About

“What I seek in food is nourishment and fulfillment. To create through cooking smells and flavors that evoke warming feelings and memories common and relatable to us all. As a chef, food writer, and cookbook author, I find myself at the same time in a constant and passionate search for lost recipes, old cooking methods, and century-long traditions involving food and culture that ought to be preserved.”

Carolina Doriti was born in Greece, and in 1997 she moved to the UK where she completed a BA at the University of Sussex and an MA at Goldsmiths in London.
Cooking has been her greatest passion from a very early age, and she regards it as a form of art, meditation, and self-expression, but also as an intimate and wonderful way to nourish and show love.
She has been working as a chef and restaurant consultant since 2005, and since 2013 she has been collaborating with Culinary Backstreets, an awarded US food touring company operating globally. She writes about food and publishes recipes in Greek and international publications and websites. Carolina is also the Culinary Producer of My Greek Table, a TV series on Greek gastronomy, broadcasted on PBS (across the US and Canada) and Amazon Prime. She has appeared on various cooking, and other food-related shows on international television and offers live and virtual cooking classes and workshops.
As a professional chef, curator, food traveler, and passionate about food history, her work covers a wide range of culinary expertise. She continually travels on a voyage to discover new ingredients and ways of using them and has particularly extensive knowledge of the history of Greek cuisine and the regional-specific recipes and food traditions. Her own recipe concepts are predominantly both simple and complex but also profoundly cultural and heavenly delicious!
